## Client Overview

Honor Cremations, a pioneering provider of online cremation services in the Bay Area, sought to revolutionize the funeral industry by offering a fully digital solution for families. The goal was to eliminate the need for physical office visits, allowing customers to arrange cremation services online in a simple, compassionate, and transparent manner.

To bring this vision to life, Honor Cremations partnered with Spiral Scout to build a custom web application that would automate workflows, integrate third-party services, and provide a seamless user experience. The solution had to be secure, intuitive, and highly scalable, handling everything from service selection to payment processing and document signing.

Traditional funeral service arrangements require extensive paperwork, in-person meetings, and manual processing, making the experience overwhelming for grieving families. Honor Cremations needed a platform that could handle complex workflows and automate paperwork processes, a significant challenge given the sensitive nature of the service.



 

 Solutions Comprehensive Custom Web Application

 

Spiral Scout developed a custom web application using PHP and React, incorporating a “services management system” to dynamically manage pricing for services like “Urns” and “Transportation fee” based on location. The introduction of a “Progress bar” feature further enhanced user experience by illustrating task dependencies and status updates.

Handling multiple service requests manually led to operational inefficiencies and potential errors.

We implemented an automated workflow system that:

- Automatically calculated costs based on the user’s geographic location.
- Integrated Stripe for secure, hassle-free online payments.
