## about the project

Pacific International Bearing (PIB) is a leading global distributor of high-quality bearings and related industrial products. As their business expanded, they needed a modernized eCommerce platform that could support growth, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the manual workload associated with order processing and customer service.

Their existing platform struggled with slow performance, outdated design, and a lack of seamless integration between their ERP system, third-party vendors, and online storefront. These inefficiencies resulted in delayed order processing, poor user experience, and an inability to scale effectively.

To address these challenges, Spiral Scout designed and developed a fully integrated, scalable, and responsive eCommerce platform that modernized PIB’s online operations, allowing them to process orders faster, synchronize inventory in real-time, and deliver an enhanced customer experience.

 Challenges Legacy eCommerce Platform with Poor Performance

 

PIB’s existing WordPress + WooCommerce platform was slow, outdated, and unable to handle large-scale transactions efficiently. Customers faced long page load times, and the backend struggled with syncing inventory across multiple channels.



 

 Solutions Comprehensive Site Redesign

 

Spiral Scout completely redesigned and optimized PIB’s eCommerce platform, leveraging modern front-end and back-end technologies to enhance speed, usability, and performance. We upgraded the WooCommerce architecture to handle high transaction volumes and implemented a caching strategy to improve load times.

We developed a robust integration layer between PIB’s ERP and WooCommerce, enabling real-time synchronization of orders, inventory, and customer data. Additionally, we integrated third-party vendor systems, allowing PIB to manage drop shipping, bulk ordering, and partner sales from a centralized dashboard.

We worked collaboratively with PIB’s leadership to define their brand identity and online goals. Using Figma and Miro, we designed wireframes, prototypes, and a modern UI/UX that balanced aesthetics and functionality.

Our engineers developed custom API integrations between PIB’s ERP system, WooCommerce, and vendor networks, enabling real-time data exchange, automated order fulfillment, and centralized reporting.

By breaking down the system into independent, scalable microservices, we enabled PIB to process thousands of orders simultaneously without bottlenecks, ensuring a future-proof architecture that could easily accommodate expansion.
