Covering over 2,000 ski resorts worldwide, the platform serves as a key resource for real-time weather updates, webcams, and user-generated reviews. However, the aging mobile and web applications were struggling with performance issues, poor user engagement, and outdated architecture. Solutions Mobile App Redesign Spiral Scout rebuilt the mobile app using ReactNative and TypeScript, allowing a single codebase for both iOS and Android applications. This redesign improved the App Store rating to 4.7 stars. Challenges Legacy Code and Architecture The platform faced challenges with legacy code and outdated application architecture, impacting performance. Solutions Modern Tech Stack Implementation Utilized NextJS with TypeScript, RoadRunner 2.x, Spiral Framework 2.x, and Cycle ORM to modernize the architecture and enhance performance. Integrated i18next for localization, react-query for responsive data management, and Sentry for robust error tracking. Challenges Complex Ad Integration Integrating multiple third-party advertising services required meticulous synchronization. Challenges SEO and Page Loading Optimization Coordinating SEO redirects and pre-rendering numerous pages was crucial for maintaining rankings and loading speeds.
