Defined.ai is the world’s leading marketplace for buying, selling, and requesting AI datasets, tools, and models. By connecting [AI professionals](https://stage.spiralscout.com/services/ai-implementation/ai-consulting-and-software-development) with high-quality training data and services, the platform plays a pivotal role in building fair, accessible, and ethical AI solutions. Despite its strong industry presence, Defined.ai faced critical challenges with its website’s performance, searchability, and overall user experience. The existing site made content management cumbersome, lacked an intuitive search experience, and was not optimized for marketing or SEO growth.

Spiral Scout partnered with Defined.ai to redesign the site, integrate a powerful CMS, and implement cutting-edge search capabilities to enhance usability and conversions, all while ensuring the marketplace remained scalable and easy to manage for internal teams.

 Challenges A Fragmented and Hard-to-Update CMS

 

The previous CMS made it difficult for non-technical users to manage content, create new pages, or update marketplace listings without engineering intervention. This slowed down marketing efforts and impacted agility.



 

 Solutions Comprehensive Site Audit and Redesign

 

We migrated the entire platform to WordPress CMS, ensuring that Defined.ai’s marketing and content teams could easily create, edit, and optimize pages without relying on developers. This dramatically improved internal workflows, allowing the team to run campaigns, update content, and optimize conversion funnels independently.




 

 

 Challenges Inconsistent UI/UX and Poor Conversion Rates

 

The existing design failed to guide users effectively, leading to high bounce rates and poor conversion rates. Navigation was unintuitive, and key marketplace features were not presented in an engaging way.

Product discovery on the old platform was cumbersome, with search results often being slow, irrelevant, or incomplete. Given that Defined.ai operates as a marketplace, this significantly affected user experience and sales conversions.

We developed custom Gutenberg Blocks, allowing Defined.ai’s content managers to rapidly build and modify pages without needing to write custom code, streamlining marketing and campaign execution.
